Russell Amparano
My name is Russell Amparano born and raised in Southern California. I have worked with dependent adults and seniors since 2009, starting my career as a caregiver while attending college to become a mechanical engineer. After completing my Associates in Mechanical Drafting and Design, I couldn’t give up the sense of accomplishment I received seeing my residents’ lives improve with the care and support I could provide, so I switched careers! Even though the days, months, and years that followed were difficult and not compensated as well as they could have been as an engineer, it was far more fulfilling than drawing lines on a computer screen!
I have held various positions in my tenure from Caregiver to Program Director to Assisted Living Manager of a 262-bed senior care facility. However, in 2020 after a tumultuous eight months of battling an unforgiving virus in the senior community, I worked for, my wife and I decided it was time for a change. With my two sons in tow, my wife and I relocated from California to Arizona, yes, in the middle of the pandemic! The transition from California to Arizona has been great aside from having to learn what “the valley” is here compared to what I have known it to be in California!
I found Fellowship Square – Mesa, after working for a home care agency for a year and I knew after my interview and tour that this was the place for me! I feel honored to have been hired as the HR Manager, where I can put my full arsenal of skills, talents, and abilities to work to help support, attract and retain staff who provide our residents a fulfilling lifestyle while promoting their independence!
